Family Fun Night Big Success!

E-mail Print PDF

Thanks to the efforts of outstanding volunteers and a well run Dad's Club our Family Fun Night was a great success.

Kudos to the PGES Dad's Club for putting on a great evening.

Many Thanks go out to our volunteers, teachers, and attendees.  The money raised from Family Fun Night will go to the Dad's Club to help put in adjustable goals in the PGES Gymnasium, a long needed improvement.

The PTO board would also like to thank the many donors to our silent auction.  Your donations helped make our event terrific!  We'd also like to thank Texas Roadhouse for helping with food donations and all those that helped setup, run the games, and clean up afterward.

Center Grove High School Key Club members helped run games...thanks!

I think all of us at PGES would like to thank Jon and Cindy Price for their tireless efforts to bring about a fun evening for all.

Sincerely,

PGES PTO Board

Parents...We Need You!

We are looking for parents to be "room parents" for many of our rooms at PGES.  The duties of a room parent in the second semester would be to help coordinate the Valentine's Day party and teacher appreciation week.

Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you can help fill this VITAL role!

Thank you..

SCRIP Chairperson Needed

E-mail Print PDF

The PGES PTO is calling all volunteers for some help!  Our SCRIP chairperson, Carol Sepaniak, would like to step down or at least ease off her duties with SCRIP.  Carol started our SCRIP program four years ago and has vast experience to pass on to one or more volunteers willing to take on this important fund raising service that PTO provides our school community.

Please contact Carol for detailed information about the hours, committment, etc.  You may also contact Dave Colby 888-1123 or Chris Osborne 882-6681 to get signed up to help!

Thanks

PTO Board

PTO Meeting Nights have changed!

The PTO board has officially moved the PTO meetings to the 1st Monday of every month.  The first meeting with this change will be December 7th, 2009.  (Next Month!!!)  The time and location has not changed.  7PM in the library.

There will be a drawing for a pie for all who attend.

We are looking for your leadership, ideas, talents, and skills!

This past meeting we had Mr. Kelly talk about ISTEP scores from the last year, the school's vision, mission, and core values, and finally he talked about steps being taken to address our ISTEP scores.

Go to the school website: http://www.centergrove.k12.in.us/pges/site/default.asp to see the reports he gave.

Who Benefits?

How we spend our money:

The PTO board gets asked, "Where does our money go?" quite a bit. Well, below is list of things we do with the thousands of dollars we fundraise each year:

  • Field Trip to Flat Rock - This trip is subsidized by PTO.
  • Field Trip to Exchange City - Again, PTO helps keep the cost per child low for this.
  • Money for each classroom - Our board allocates $50 for each teacher and approximately $1000 for each grade level to buy classroom supplies, supplemental materials, and other learning supplies that the district won't buy.
  • Special Teacher Projects - during the year teachers approach the PTO for money to do special projects or buy special materials.
  • PE Equipment - Our Campbells Soup Labels have provided Mrs. Cleek the opportunity to order supplies from the catalog we get for turning in those labels...keep sending them in!
  • Popcorn parties and student awards - We help recognize students and classrooms with different types of prizes.

There are many other ways we use our money, but there is a good list to start with.
Do you have ideas? Would you like to have some input? Our meetings are on the 2nd Monday of every month starting on September, 10th 2008 at 7:00PM in the school library. Meetings are open to ALL.

Contact a board member if you have any other questions:
