PTO Meeting Nights have changed!

The PTO board has officially moved the PTO meetings to the 1st Monday of every month.  The first meeting with this change will be December 7th, 2009.  (Next Month!!!)  The time and location has not changed.  7PM in the library.

There will be a drawing for a pie for all who attend.

We are looking for your leadership, ideas, talents, and skills!

This past meeting we had Mr. Kelly talk about ISTEP scores from the last year, the school's vision, mission, and core values, and finally he talked about steps being taken to address our ISTEP scores.

Go to the school website: http://www.centergrove.k12.in.us/pges/site/default.asp to see the reports he gave.

Who Benefits?

How we spend our money:

The PTO board gets asked, "Where does our money go?" quite a bit. Well, below is list of things we do with the thousands of dollars we fundraise each year:

  • Field Trip to Flat Rock - This trip is subsidized by PTO.
  • Field Trip to Exchange City - Again, PTO helps keep the cost per child low for this.
  • Money for each classroom - Our board allocates $50 for each teacher and approximately $1000 for each grade level to buy classroom supplies, supplemental materials, and other learning supplies that the district won't buy.
  • Special Teacher Projects - during the year teachers approach the PTO for money to do special projects or buy special materials.
  • PE Equipment - Our Campbells Soup Labels have provided Mrs. Cleek the opportunity to order supplies from the catalog we get for turning in those labels...keep sending them in!
  • Popcorn parties and student awards - We help recognize students and classrooms with different types of prizes.

There are many other ways we use our money, but there is a good list to start with.
Do you have ideas? Would you like to have some input? Our meetings are on the 2nd Monday of every month starting on September, 10th 2008 at 7:00PM in the school library. Meetings are open to ALL.

Contact a board member if you have any other questions:

SCRIP Chairperson Needed

E-mail Print PDF

The PGES PTO is calling all volunteers for some help!  Our SCRIP chairperson, Carol Sepaniak, would like to step down or at least ease off her duties with SCRIP.  Carol started our SCRIP program four years ago and has vast experience to pass on to one or more volunteers willing to take on this important fund raising service that PTO provides our school community.

Please contact Carol for detailed information about the hours, committment, etc.  You may also contact Dave Colby 888-1123 or Chris Osborne 882-6681 to get signed up to help!

Thanks

PTO Board
